Big cheers for some extraordinary Lakewood students, including two LHS seniors, who received Academic All-Shore Awards.
The recent honors were for the All-Shore Conference encompassing forty-three teams for football in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. It’s important to note that only two athletes could be nominated per school, but LHS had at least three more who would qualify. The athletes were required to maintain a 3.0 GPA and starting.
The students were John Paul, who be attending Temple University on a full scholarship, and Myles Jackson, who transferred to Lakewood from Mon Don this year. Myles has been accepted to sixteen schools, including Brown, Marist, Boonie State, and Pace.
LHS is also pleased that of 26 kids on the varsity football team, of which thirteen are seniors, ten are planning to attend college, and three have enlisted in the military. Of the college-bound ten, Josh Lesin will be attending the University of Maine with an above 3.0 average; Zyheir Jones and Jyheir Jones will attend Arizona Western—the top-ranked junior college in the United States.
Thanks to Piners Head Coach LJ and all the LHS coaches for a great season on and off the field.
